Bio

Who is Art of the Midwest you may ask? Let me tell you a little about him. Well for starters his name is Arturo Garza and he is 26 year old and a Mexican American who has a passion for quite a few things. Sports, movies, music, comics, pro wrestling, anime are just a few things to say the least. Currently a student at IMS, Arturo is working to improve his skills in broadcasting as well keeping an open mind to what else the media field has to offer.

Born and raised in northern Illinois in a small city called Waukegan. Maybe you’ve heard of it, former NBA forward Shawn Marion and NFL running back Michael Turner are from there. It is also the fictional hometown of Marvel’s Johnny Blaze’s Ghostrider. Arturo spent most of his youth wrestling collegiately while slowly growing interest in other sports like football, basketball, baseball, etc. Movies, comics, and pro wrestling have been something Arturo grew up enjoying and has never lost any interest in. Music was introduced to him more heavily around his mid-teens which inspired him to become a DJ. “Music can take you where words can’t” a mantra Arturo believes to be very true in life and helps him continue his venture with music. What brought Arturo to IMS? Himself. He wants the opportunity to prove that media is the field that is not just for him but he will thrive in. Waiting time done and his time is now.

With it now being Arturo’s time, what does that really mean? It means that he wants to create this site not just for himself but for everyone who has a shared interest with him. Some topics people are interested aren’t always talked about in everyday conversations, so that’s what this website is for. Come here and let your thoughts be free and express yourself with no judgement. Ultimately Arturo wants to finish his journey by one day being on ESPN as one of the host of First Take hopefully giving it to Stephen A. Smith or Max Kellerman. “If you dreamt it, you can achieve it” one more mantra Arturo also believes to be very true.
